CRCA Volunteers, Staff and Consultant advocate for the Roofing and Waterproofing industry at the Legislatures throughout the CRCA area - Chicago and all of Illinois.
With its Volunteers, Staff and Consultants, CRCA works to protect consumers from substandard contracting practices and monitors legislation that would affect the CRCA Membership, either positively or negatively.
Issues include:
- Licensing of Roofing and Waterproofing Contractors
- Workers Compensation and Safe Work Acts
- Insurance – Health and Business
- Technical Issues - Energy and other Roofing and Waterproofing Codes must be adapted through legislation.
- Department of Transportation Issues
- Permitting Issues
What is PAC Fund and Why it Matters?
A Political Action Committee (PAC) is an entity permitted under federal law to make contributions to political candidates running for office at the state and/or federal level. PACs are regulated by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and must file periodic reports detailing both contributions received and contributions made to particular candidates. PAC contributions are not tax-deductible, but contributions may be made by both businesses and individuals, subject to applicable campaign-finance laws.
Illinois has 118 state representatives and 59 state senators, all operating within ongoing election cycles. Legislators regularly hold fundraising events, and participating in these events is an important part of maintaining relationships with elected officials.
